Syttende Mai at Leif Erikson Lodge

For the second year in a row there will be no Syttende Mai parade in Ballard due to the ongoing pandemic.

We will still be celebrating at Leif Erikson Lodge and Ballard, however. The Lodge welcomes everyone to celebrate Syttende Mai with a drive/walk-through dessert and coffee from 4:00-6:00 on Monday, May 17th. Blødtkake and krumkake are on the menu. Enjoy your treats as you listen to your favorite Scandinavian folk tunes by the Sølje Sisters. Join in the Parade Walk starting at Scandinavian Specialties (6719 15th Ave. NW) where you can enjoy pølse and Solo. Between 5:00-5:30 walk on down to the Lodge for dessert. Bunads and flag waving highly encouraged!

Continue your trek to Bergen Place for more flag waving and then to Skål (5429 Ballard Ave. NW) for refreshments and dedication of Bjarne’s booth!

Join us on August 4th, 6:30pm at the Leif Erikson Hall for the installation of the Sami Flag at the Lodge

The event is free of charge and there will be Norwegian desserts and soft drinks available for all to enjoy.

Sandra Andersen Eira, a Sami Parliamentarian and captain of a fishing boat will tell stories of her life at sea as well as in the Norwegian Government.  It's going to be a very interesting event and we look forward to seeing you then!
